My family and I moved down here from Northern Nevada just about a year ago now and couldn’t be happier with the decision. We live in the Hamlin/Horizon West area of south Winter Garden and there is something to be said to be able to catch Happily Ever After each night (when not under the auspices of Cornoavirus) when the wife and I are walking the dogs.
If you are a family, I would say that this area has some of the best schools in Orange County. You will also have a brand new elementary school opening for the 2020-21 school year in the Summerlake subdivision that will help to alleviate some of the overcrowding at Independence ES. My understanding is that there is also a new high school in the works that is slated to open within the next couple of years.
For those who talk about the heat in central Florida, I guess you have never experienced the dry heat of the desert. You fell like you are walking onto the surface of a frying pan the minute you go outside. I’ll take 95 with the humidity all day long over 95+ of the Nevada desert.
