Five Great Non-Parks Activities to Consider at Disney

Disney World has so much to offer, and as Florida residents, we have even more time to explore. We love spending time in the parks. However, there are lots of other activities you might not realize exists. Let’s discover some great non-parks activities you can take advantage of as locals.

Horseback Riding at Fort Wilderness

Fort Wilderness Resort and Campgrounds offers scenic horseback rides through the resort trails. A 45 minute ride is $55 and guests from age 9 and up are welcome to book this adventure regardless if they are a beginner to horseback riding. According to the website Horses will keep a steady walking pace as we explore the natural beauty surrounding Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campgrounds. Archery at Fort Wilderness

Also at Fort Wilderness is the Archery Experience. This 75-minute session costs $45 and will teach you how to hold and fire a compound bow. This is available to guests 7 years of age and older. In addition to this, class sizes are limited to ten people. Therefore, each attendee will personalized advice from the archery guides. Learn more HERE.

Surrey Bike Rentals

Surrey Bike Rentals are available at a variety of resorts including BoardWalk, Old Key West, Port Orleans Riverside and French Quarter, and Saratoga Springs. Depending on the resort, you can bike around waterways and wooden paths. Two or Four person bikes are available and rental prices vary by resort and season. Boat Rentals

Disney has a wide variety of boat rental opportunities from motorized boats to kayaks and canoes. Motorized boats can be rented from Marinas located at Grand Floridian, Polynesian, Contemporary, and Yacht & Beach Club. Kayaks and canoes can be rented at Fort Wilderness. Starlight Safari at Animal Kingdom Lodge- Kidani Village

See the animal come to life after dusk on the Starlight Safari offered at Animal Kingdom Lodge. Guests will board an open-sided safari vehicle. Also, night vision devices will be provided to see the animals of the savanna. This experience is $76-89 per person and last approximately one hour. You can learn more HERE.
