Florida Disaster Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday is Happening Now

May 28th started the 2022 Florida Disaster Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday. This sales tax holiday lasts through Friday, June 10th. Residents can purchase certain products free of taxes in an effort to prepare for hurricane season and other severe weather disasters. The weather might be beautiful currently. However, now is a great time for Floridians to stock up on batteries, pet supplies, portable generators, and more.

The Florida Disaster Preparedness was passed by the state legislator and signed into law as a way to alleviate some of the financial burdens and encourage Florida residents to prepare for severe weather.
