Rumor: Is Disney Relocating Another 1000 jobs from California to Lake Nona Florida?

You’ve probably seen The Walt Disney Company and Lake Nona in the news together a lot lately. For instance, we confirmed Disney is planning a campus in Lake Nona where it will relocate around 2,000 jobs. In addition, Disney has been in talks with the Lake Nona development company, Tavistock, to develop an age-restricted community. This community will be located in the Sunbridge development.

The original announcement reported by the Orlando Business Journal confirmed approximately 2,000 jobs will relocate to the Lake Nona area. This is all supposed to take place over the next 18-months. Fields including Imagineers and other Parks, Experiences, and Products division executives will be some of the first to relocate. Likewise, these plans include the construction of a new Disney professional campus within the community.

Now, rumors are that approximately 1,000 additional jobs will be relocated from California to Central Florida. Similarly, these job fields also include Imagineering, consumer products, finance, and more. Meanwhile, employees of these positions may have to move to Florida or separate from the company.
