Get ready to experience an all-new type of residential community! Storyliving by Disney is a brand new master-planned community business revealed earlier today over on Disney Parks Blog.
Led by Senior Vice President of Emerging Business for Disney Signature Experiences, Claire Bilby, Storyliving by Disney will invite fans to become part of new magical neighborhoods that feature everything you have come to know and love from Disney.
Each master-planned community will feature uniquely themed spaces and amenities, along with the world-renowned service hallmark of the brand.
Coachella Valley in Rancho Mirage, California will be home to the first planned community named, Cotino. Located in the Greater Palm Spring area, this location has a very deep connection to Walt and Lillian Disney. The Parks Blog shared a short video to share more about the proposed plans for Cotino, a Storyliving by Disney community:
This development is also expected to host a hotel and range of shopping, dining, entertainment, and leisure activities. While California was the first official location announced, today’s announcement also alluded to future neighborhoods in other states. For residents ages 55+, this may indicate that the previously announced age-restricted community planned for the Orlando area will make more progress. We previously reported back in August 2021 that Disney is in talks with Tavistock Development Company to develop an age-restricted community as part of the nearly 27,000-acre Sunbridge development near Lake Nona. There are a lot of references to this being for Disney fans which makes perfect sense. It won’t be any surprise to see developments pop up in Florida as well.
